Aureos Highways are recruiting for a Cost Clerk to support them on their major highways project in Penrith which it due to last over 2 years.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing cost control and support to the commercial lead and site team in contracts. Involving you to collect, analyse, summarise and evaluate costs to maximise the contract margins and cash collection in turn maximising the business profits.
Primary tasks and duties:
- Checking and pre approval of material and external plant invoices
- Allocation and coding of all delivery tickets in line with the cost loaded and deliverables
- Analysing of weekly material and plant schedules
- Interrogation and evaluation of all staff and labour costs
- Assist commercial lead with preparation of monthly reporting requirements and deliverables
- Preparing all necessary cost transfers to ensure cost allocation is correct.
- Provision of all supporting documentation to back up periodic applications as required
- Reconciliation of cost reporting with financial reporting as required
- Visits to other offices and site locations as required
- Liaise with other departments and external companies as and when required
- Support the commercial lead on any ad-hoc duties and special projects as required
Skills and experience
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Good planning, time management and organisation skills
- Proven ability to prioritise and ability to meet tight deadlines in a busy and demanding environment
- Experienced MS office user, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team, whilst showing clear attention to detail
