Aureos IDEC are currently seeking an Experienced EHV Substation Project Manager for projects in the Yorkshire / Northeast region. Knowledge of EHV Power Systems is essential.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

Typically this will involve but not be limited to:

  • Contributing to project initiation meetings
  • Contributing to project development team meetings
  • Co-opting and co-ordinating other relevant members of the organisation to the project as required – design engineer(s), commissioning engineer, works supervisor etc.
  • Assisting in scope development and proposals
  • Timely submission of contract documentation
  • Establishment and operation of CPP and safety management systems
  • Review and management of Works programmes
  • Monitoring and managing Works Order delivery
  • Contributing to progress meetings
  • Maintaining the payment point Valuation and Application for Payment process
  • Documenting and managing contract change events
  • Undertaking routine safety and environmental inspections
  • Liaison with all manufacturers and suppliers, pre-order equipment to ensure coordination of delivery, installation and commissioning.
  • Liaison with all other contractor’s as required and associated with the works including the organisation and management of their site activities.
  • Site management and storage of all materials and pre-ordered equipment.
  • Responsibility for the security of the works including the security of pre ordered equipment.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of the works
  • Project management and delivery management activities, as necessary, to complete the works
  • Oversight, management and coordination of the safety, environmental, operational and quality management arrangements associated with the site delivery of all third-party manufacturers, suppliers and contractors.
  • From time-to-time travel / overnight stays may be required as part of the role

Deliverables/ General Accountability:

  • All project related commercial and SHEQ targets
  • The Project Manager will be responsible, in conjunction with the project team, for delivering allocated works to defined safety, time, cost and quality standards by writing & controlling the detailed time plan, quality plan, cost programme and Construction Phase Plan (CPP) for the works, including the issue of progress reports, general project reporting and cost management / forecasting.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of EHV power systems, safety procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Project management of EHV substation or similar construction projects.
  • Experience and ability to perform the role of CDM principal contractor
  • Formal safety qualification

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team and individually to enable effective delivery of project requirements
  • Proven ability to drive project plans forward to meet requirements often under demanding circumstances.
